Saughton Sonnets Anthology
This Hidden Voices anthology has been created to commemorate our successful collaboration with HMP Edinburgh (Saughton), titled Saughton Sonnets, which took place at the height of our national lockdown in summer 2020.
The residents of Saughton were invited to share, in the form of poetry, their thoughts and feelings around being imprisoned during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The anthology not only contains the resulting banquet of authenticity from the same residents but also contributions from a range of high profile individuals in the main from the justice arena.
These include a short preface by crime writing legend Ian Rankin and some project thoughts from Scotland’s Cabinet Secretary for Justice Humza Yousaf as well as a project reflection by John Scott QC.
There are additional reflections from a community justice, arts, academic and lived experience perspective as well as a residents look back on how participating in the project has impacted on his life.
Purchasing the anthology today will help create a platform for further Hidden Voices projects and we thank you for your interest and support, they are greatly appreciated
